Since starting to teach WRTG 394 (Advanced Business Writing) for UMGC, I have taught more than 50 sections, and I just LOVE IT! I feel I have had and can make such a positive impact on the future business skills of my students. I taught several face-to-face (F2F) classes, although most are fully online, asynchronous courses.
I also teach ENGL 394, Business Writing, for the Professional Writing Program (part of the English Department) at the University of Maryland, College Park. This 3 credit course is offered in a F2F format. During the Covid 19 pandemic, I was asked to teach ENGL 101 in a synchronous format. That was certainly a different experience!
Now that I have retired from the University of Maryland, I can continue to teach for the English Department. In the spring of 2022 I'll be teaching ENGL 394 F2F at the Shady Grove campus, which is much closer to our new home than College Park!

I have been so honored to receive feedback and comments from many of my students at the conclusion of the class. Many wish they had taken WRTG 394 earlier in their academic studies; others have said they learned so much they can apply in their careers. This document has one or two comments from some of my earlier UMGC classes. Click on the THANK YOU image above to see the document.
